The Return of the Comeback

Guess who's back, back again
Shady's back, tell a friend.

Nah, I'm not Shady but yeah I'm back!!! (As if I have readers. Hahaha. Forgive me, I'm a Narci like that!). So yes, after a few blogs I went MIA and then there comes the itch to write again. I just hope this will last long. I want to take this blogging seriously. Ansabeeeee?

A LOOOOOT has happened since my last post. There were travels, new found hobby(ies), jobs, change of civil status and a whole lot in between. I hope to fill those here. Just give me some time. Or a lot of time, if you're being very generous and patient. Hahaha. I want to share it to blogsphere in hope of sparing someone from boredom (or drowning them for lack of fun in what they'll be reading.:D ) and I just want to let things out. You know how crazy my emotions can be. I can jump from being happy to sad to HANGRY in just one minute! You can ask Bubba for confirmation. Tee-hee.

I didn't expect baking could be this fun!

Monarchs visited the Lion City.

Arts and Crafts are my kind of thing now :P

If I can just share, I got so kilig when I checked my blog stat and I saw there were 2,000+++ people who read my posts. I wanted to do cartwheels (but I remembered I don't know how to. Bahaha). I didn't expect people will come across this blog and take a second to read it. I want to thank those people, they let me feel what I wrote is tiny tad interesting. See, I am so easy to please! :)

See you soon!

Dental Care

Wait lang, mananalamin lang ako ah? :D

I really envy those people who are blessed with such perfect teeth. I would kill give up anything just to have these pearly whites.

When I was a kid I dread going to the dentist. I would throw crying feasts when my parents would schedule a dental check for me. Now, I believe that nasa huling ang pagsisisi. Had I listened to my parents' advice before and built a good relationship with a dentist, I would've been exposing rows of sexy Chiclets while flashing my killer smile since then. *ehem*

My dental problem aggravated by my childhood psychological activity, aka Thumbsucking.
"Thumb-sucking can cause problems for dental development. To prevent their children from sucking their thumbs some parents put hot sauce or bitter-tasting substances on their child's hands—although this is not a procedure encouraged by the American Dental Association or the Association of Pediatric Dentists. During the 1950s, parents could get a series of sharp prongs known as "hay-rakes" cemented to a child's teeth to discourage sucking." - Wikipedia
Yes, my family tried those schemes to shy me away from further continuing with the act but it all failed. Ang tibay ng fighting spirit ko nung bata ako. Hahaha

My hardheadedness resulted to something I regretted the most. Back in college, I sported those dental fences. In the Philippines, if you have braces you are tagged as cool and part of the alta sa cuidad, even. But to me, it was a price I have to pay. Being metal-mouthed is no joke. Hello canker sores here and there! Ugh.

It's not as cool as others think it is. :(

Why I am talking about these things? Because years after I had my braces removed, I am again encountering dental issues. Gah! I am planning to visit the dentist again this weekend. Please pray for me. I really hope I won't throw tantrums on my way to the clinic. *fingers crossed ;p*

1000 Followers Giveaway by Miss Kat

Back in college, I would waste spend time doing my no-make-up make up. My girlfriends taught me how to use liquid eyeliner like a pro.  Sadly, when I entered Law School I almost threw my kikay kit away. LS is such a jealous mistress! But just recently I am beginning to be interested in mook up again. big grin

There's no harm in giving this a shot. Who know's this might be a good reason for me to give make up the time it deserves, again. winking

Pampered like a Celebrity

July is an important month for The Boyfriend and I!

love struckIt's our Anniversary month!

✓ Gift
✓ Date Venue & Reservation
✓ Dress & Footwear
✓ Haircut
X Manicure & Pedicure worried

I was too lazy ( as always.. tee-hee) to go out and I am not in the mood to go to a crowded place that time. I remembered coming across a page some weeks ago about this home service nail spa. Aha! The heavens must be on my side!

I dialed their number and luck of all lucks the personnel I talked to told me that they have an on-going promo! I then made a reservation and chose Blockbuster plus free Hand Spa.

The technician came with this-

nagsusumigaw na PIIIIIINKKKK! Me loves!

Then like Hermione she started to take out the stuff, from the bag, that she will use for that afternoon's service. I know Hermione's bag is a loooot smaller than that of the Technician's but hey! Considering the number and size of her paraphernalias you'll be amazed just the same. big grin

Lots of colors to choose from.

Doesn't look like plastic, right?

Some of the Technician's stuff for Hand &Foot Spa and Manicure & Pedicure

They have a good number of scents to choose from for the Hand and Foot Spa. I chose Lavender, of course!  winking I'm hitting two birds with one stone- it is my favorite color/shade and one of my favorite scents. *Sniffing Dreamingly*

Pardon my haggard look. Hehe.. It was blazing hot that afternoon and I did some work at home prior to the Technician's arrival.

Before my nails were done, I had an hour's worth of full body massage! The package I got just keeps on surprising me! ♥ ♥

I only have good words to say for Celebrity Nails. The Technician was friendly and she did her job perfectly well. She may had a hard time, I suppose, with my dead skin(s) in my feet but I did not feel even a bit of pain. I know, I know that is not so lady-like to let her nails go uncleaned for two weeks but what can a working girl do when my boss is killing me with many readings.

I will definitely get their services again! I recommend you should too. winking

You Already!

I never imagined a man could be very vocal and expressive. I grew up surrounded by men of very few words and calculated sentiments. The men in our family are looked upon as rule makers. They portray an aura of power and sternness.  Feelings are never questioned but they are not also conveyed orally and verbally. When you came, all the notions of men as poker faces and dictators were rubbed out. You tell me those magical words every chance you have. Holding hands and hugs are staples to our days. You throw surprises on no particular occasions.  You never hesitate to tell me how you feel, may it be that you are elated or down to the pits.

You have so many stories to tell though you may not be as blabber-mouthed as I am. You share your insights and knowledge about a lot of things- trivial, mundane, educational or deep. I never questioned your intellect for even before we became an item I am hats off to your brainpower. I owe you my grade in my college math subjects, remember? Your dedication and hard work are incomparable just to enlighten me with those formulas and graphs. The random exchange of facts and lessons we have over anything under the sun are etched in my mind. Much to my (or other people’s) surprise, you can also be goofy and foolish. You make me laugh like a lunatic with your jokes, stunts and hirits. The “Jollibee dance” is my favourite, by far. Hahaha

I am a very irritable person but you taught me to control my temper.  You taught me to appreciate even the smallest things. You taught me not to be so worrisome. You taught me to forgive people who bashed you (yes, I am a war freak like that!) and instead ask that their souls be blessed. You taught me that sometimes silence makes a lot of difference than blurting it all out. You are my critic and fan rolled into one. You embraced me as I am but does not hesitate to reprimand me if there need be. You keep up with me, craziness and all. You gained the approval of my sibs and friends by just being yourself (a lil extravagance didn’t hurt ;p). You endured the test of my dad, proving him your good intentions. You taught me to love will all my heart, with no hesitations.

Over the years, He has blessed us with so many things- both individually and as a couple. The one thing that I am most thankful for is that He let us reach this far. It was not an easy journey, it was in fact more than a roller coaster ride but you stayed, we stayed. We beat the odds and we will continue to do so for years to come. Each hurdle is bearable because I know we got each other’s back.

An answered prayer is what you are. You couldn’t imagine how happy I was when my conversations and negotiations with Him paid off. I love you more than love could ever be defined. You are the only person who was able to extract the mushiness in me and I love every single bit of it.

Seven years is copper or wool. May our love be like copper which do not rust. May we be like wool who keeps each other warm during cold moments in our life. May we forever be like each other now, truly, madly, deeply in love with each other. For the man I dream to be with is YOU ALREADY!

Happy 7th Heaven, Prince!

Aren't these two the cutest? Oh! This is so fitting, BTW, since the Boyfriend is as kupad as the Turtle. *Shhhh.. Don't tell him I said that. :D*

A New Journey

The Philippine National Railways (Filipino: Pambansang Daangbakal ng Pilipinas), commonly abbreviated as PNR, is a state-owned railway operator in the Philippines, operating an extensive railway line on the island of Luzon. As of 2010, it operates two commuter rail services in Metro Manila and the Bicol Region. The commuter line in Metro Manila is part of the Strong Republic Transit System and is referred to as the Orange Line.

In 2007 the Philippine government initiated a rehabilitation project aiming to remove informal settlers from the PNR right-of-way, revitalize commuter services in Metro Manila, and restore the Manila-Bicol route as well as lost services in Northern Luzon. In July 2009, PNR unveiled a new corporate identity and inaugurated new rolling stock. source

This is what it looked like waaaaaay back.

We once resided in Makati that is why I know that traffic in Osmeña Highway sucks! Tss! That is why when I got accepted in a company along Osmeña Highway my first question was- "How will I get there everyday without being late!?". Then it dawned on me, I have another problem- my sleeping habit. Plus! I am not a morning person. Accckk.. When I say that I loooooove to sleep, it is an understatement. I call my "worries"- The terrible two! Hahaha

On my first day to work, while I was in the cab I saw the PNR railroad track and a station near our office. I tried it the following day. Little did I know that the train schedule is unlike that of LRT and MRT. From the first trip (around 6 am, I guess) up to 8:20 a.m, train intervals is per 30 minutes. Beyond that the intervals is per hour already. Good thing I was at the station around 7:10 am and boarded the 7:20 am train or else I have to wait for another 30 minutes and be errr late.

This is what it looks like today.

From my Point of Origin to Point of Destination, it only took around 15 minutes. That is 7 stations in all, including POO and POD. Quite fast. But there is another problem with this line- (see picture below)
There are so many people in each station

This is due to the long train intervals. Within the 30-minute wait (in the morning), the number of waiting passengers is piling up. Good thing the trains are air conditioned. Although sometimes I couldn't feel it because nag-aagawan ang mga tao sa hangin.. Hahaha

This actually happens in our own PNR.

The are a lot of passengers that the train could not accommodate all of its patrons. I wanted to take a picture of my actual experience but more often than not I couldn't move even a finger inside the train. I feel like we were sardines inside the can. I hope the government would procure more trains for this line so that there will be more train schedule and less waiting time for the busy public. I am really envious of the HongKong MTR- very efficient and the passengers are disciplined. But I will still take this mode of transportation because this is the best choice I have, for now. Hey! Who am I to complain when the train I am riding now is way better than what others used to take years back. I am crossing my fingers that soon this line will be the same as that of LRT2, the best mass rail transit we have in the country.

My Current Ultimate Pick-upper

People close to me know how i love anything sweet. It never fails to make my heart skip. We never ran out of sweets ( e.g Ice cream, Cakes, Chocolate Bars) at home. I am always on the look for new sweet stuff to try and  add to my growing list.

FRANK & CAROL'S. I first read about it in one of the blogs I stalk follow. Pardon me, I really cannot remember who among them. But whoever s/he may be I will forever be grateful to him/her for introducing me the best chocolate cake my mouth  had an encounter with.

Please bear with the low quality of the pictures, I used my phone's camera. I know the pictures does not give justice as to how heavenly the cake is.

Frank & Carol's does not focus on the appearance of their product. Just look at the humble shavings of chocolate on top of the cake. They instead direct their attention in using the best ingredients. Their cakes are made of real Belgian Chocolate!

Last week, PMS kicked in and I used it to be the best excuse to have my monthly fill of Frank & Carol's. The only problem I had was that PMS = Laziness. Good thing Quick Delivery includes Parvati to the stores it caters to. So there I was on rainy Saturday afternoon dialing the magical Quick Delivery hotline number. After an hour, voila! My piece of heaven is waiting for our attack. :D The next time you crave for a chocolate cake don't hesitate to have a fill of this one. Shoot me if you won't love it. ;)

At The Beginning

Finally! After months [or is it a year? ;)] of contemplating of having my own blog, here it is! This site will contain my travels, food trips and anything in between.

I am a busy bee. I juggle my time for my family, friends, The Boyfriend and soon, work. Yes, I will be taking a break from being a student for a while. I need funds for my travel plans this year. Haha..

I am still exploring blogspot. I hope we will have a good working relationship soon. I am not new though to Blogspot or any domain for that matter because I read blogs of other people for years already. :)

So without further adieu, Welcome!
