Wait lang, mananalamin lang ako ah? :D
I really envy those people who are blessed with such perfect teeth. I would kill give up anything just to have these pearly whites.
When I was a kid I dread going to the dentist. I would throw crying feasts when my parents would schedule a dental check for me. Now, I believe that nasa huling ang pagsisisi. Had I listened to my parents' advice before and built a good relationship with a dentist, I would've been exposing rows of sexy Chiclets while flashing my killer smile since then. *ehem*
My dental problem aggravated by my childhood psychological activity, aka Thumbsucking.
"Thumb-sucking can cause problems for dental development. To prevent their children from sucking their thumbs some parents put hot sauce or bitter-tasting substances on their child's hands—although this is not a procedure encouraged by the American Dental Association or the Association of Pediatric Dentists. During the 1950s, parents could get a series of sharp prongs known as "hay-rakes" cemented to a child's teeth to discourage sucking." - Wikipedia
Yes, my family tried those schemes to shy me away from further continuing with the act but it all failed. Ang tibay ng fighting spirit ko nung bata ako. Hahaha
My hardheadedness resulted to something I regretted the most. Back in college, I sported those dental fences. In the Philippines, if you have braces you are tagged as cool and part of the alta sa cuidad, even. But to me, it was a price I have to pay. Being metal-mouthed is no joke. Hello canker sores here and there! Ugh.
It's not as cool as others think it is. :(
Why I am talking about these things? Because years after I had my braces removed, I am again encountering dental issues. Gah! I am planning to visit the dentist again this weekend. Please pray for me. I really hope I won't throw tantrums on my way to the clinic. *fingers crossed ;p*
